Most, if not all, Peoria County Board Districts have new boundaries this election due to the 2020 census. District 8 (orange shading on the map) runs north from Charter Oak Road, following Rt. 6 north to Knoxville Avenue and has a unique mix of subdivisions, businesses, agriculture, and recreation.

STOP the exodus of people leaving the County & GROW the economy. The population of Peoria County has declined. As the number of taxpayers decreases, the remaining taxpayers must bear the burden left unpaid by those who left. We must attract quality employers to keep jobs in Peoria County. Current efforts to establish a TIF district in District 8 are a great start! I have a belief that we can be the most attractive county in Downstate Illinois, but it will take leadership to get us there.

Safe Neighborhoods are an essential part of improving the quality of life Peoria County offers. We must attract and keep the best law enforcement officers our budget will allow and equip them with the right tools to insure effective law enforcement. We must keep the staffing , operation, and the maintenance of the Peoria County Jail near the top of our list.

I bring a fresh perspective to the Peoria County Board, one that puts customer and constituent service on the front burner. Years of business leadership, raising six kids, and serving on multiple volunteer boards have equipped me to serve the citizens of Peoria County. I have a strong track record of service and leadership to the Central Illinois community.

- Married to Suzanne
- Six kids and two daughter-in-laws
- Grandkid #1 arriving in January 2023
- Attended Richwoods High School, graduating salutatorian (#2)
- Graduated from the University of Illinois, majoring in Computer Science and Math, and minoring in the Professional Pilot program.
- Worked along side my dad, Jim Hoerr, at Hoerr Nursery until his retirement. Following that, purchased his share of the family business.
- Worked briefly for SkyWest Airlines, achieving the PhD of flying, the Airline Transport Pilot License
- Currently still a Certified Flight Instructor who loves to teach others to fly.
And just a note: While I am flying under the Republican banner, I have a strong desire to work with enduring cooperation regardless of my fellow board members' party affiliation. I am excited to do what's best for Peoria County.
